The Meaning of the Belt Colors

The belt colors are by no means merely some random selection of colors. Each belt color has a special meaning symbolizing advancement and increased awareness.

The color belt system is not just a representation of rank advancement, it is also an acknowledgement that signifies not only growth within the Do Jang, but that of positive character and growth outside of the Do Jang.

White Belt

        

White signifies a birth, or beginning, of a seed. A white belt student is a beginner searching for knowledge of the Martial Art.

Basic Stance

  1. Attention Stance (Cha Riot)
  2. Ready Stance (June Bee) 
  3. Riding Horse Stance (Joo Chum Seo Ki)
  4. Walking Stance (Ap Seo Ki) - Left & Right
  5. Front Stance (Ap Koo Bi) - left & right 

Basic Kicking

  1. Front Snap Kick (Ap Cha Ki) - middle & high section
  2. Front 45 round kick (Ap Dolreo Cha Ki) - middle & high section

Basic Hand Techniques (1-10)

Front snap kick 1-12 (Ap cha ki)

Basic Form 1

Target Kicking (Left and Right Side)

  1. Front snap kick, front snap kick, and punch
  2. Three times front 45 round kicks
  3. Front 45 round kick, front 45 round kick, and high front 45 round kick

Breaking Technique

  1. Hammer fist (Mae Joo Muk) - Small, Medium, and large Board

 Physical Fitness (Flexibility)

  1. Push-Up
  2. Sit-Up
  3. Stand and flex to the front, back, and both sides
  4. Sit and flex to the front

  3. Grand Master (Kwan Jang Nim)
  4. Master (Sa Bum Nim)
